Seedless watermelons and tomatoes …

August 15, 2007

Walter Jon Williams has a nice little rant about seedless watermelons and their remarkable lack of taste. I’ve never understood how they can call them ‘seedless’ either, since they have seeds, even if they ARE small.

Yes, I know, it’s kind of a weird subject but the rant is marvelously true, as are the comments about store-bought tomatoes, which are horrifically bland, and the texture awful. Every summer I look forward to garden veggies, with tomatoes topping the list (I can hear kayleigh gagging here, as she hates tomatoes).

One of the few reasons I could never fully go vegetarian is a real homemade BLT with a nice slice of ripe garden tomato (and frequently minus the “L”).

Yummy, kayleigh, yummy… 🙂
