Scalzi at Joseph-Beth, Cincinnati, part 2 …

May 31, 2007

A nice time at the Scalzi gig at Joseph-Beth tonight. No, he didn’t read from The Last Colony as I thought he would (“They have misled you,” he told the audience about the bookseller’s flyers), but he did read the first chapter from his work in progress, the sequel to The Android’s Dream, called The High Castle. After a 25 minute or so reading, he answered questions about the “wallball” scene in Android, commented on the amount of research he does, and so on. During the signing afterward, he chatted with the attendees, which was cool.

There were about 18 people there, the smallest of the tour, he said, but seemed okay with that as it was the last stop and close to home so that he was able to drive down.

He was good enough to sign my copies of The Sagan Diary and the coffee shop writing book I previously mentioned.
